Walk for a New Spring

April 14, 2018 @ 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The Old Oak Dojo is excited to be hosting the New England Peace Pagoda monks and nuns as they come through Boston on their annual Walk for a New Spring to communities across the east coast down to Washington DC.

Please join us at 4:30pm on Saturday April 14th to put up a Peace Pole at the Dojo in ceremony, followed by tea and evening prayers around 5:30pm, and a community dinner where we will hear from the monks and nuns along their dual theme for this year’s walk – nuclear disarmament and the Poor People’s campaign at 6pm.

Potluck dinner: please bring a vegetarian dish or drink to share if you’re able. Friends of all religious and spiritual beliefs welcome!

The walking route that day is still being planned but mark your calendars if you’d like to spend the  afternoon with us chanting and walking around Jamaica Plain and Roxbury, visiting a number of community organizations and historic sites representing social equity and justice.

Attached is their 2018 Walk for a New Spring pamphlet explaining the action in more detail.
